Don’t you just love automation? If you have something routine like writing a sales letter for your direct response campaign online, having a software to support your task is a huge relief, so huge that you’ll be thinking,”Where would I be now if I got this piece earlier?”

sales letter creatorThat’s PARTLY true with Sales Letter Creator – a software that aimed to help you automated your direct response page creation and of course, creating your webpage, all at the same time.

Why did I say ‘partly’ true?

It’s true that Sales Letter Creator automate your sales letter writing process.

It’s true that this sales letter writing software is a huge relief.

But it’s NOT true if you’re thinking that this software will solve all your direct response writing issues!

Read on so that you’ll get a clearer picture on these issues…

Right now, I have opened my Sales Letter Creator software. I’m looking at it. And Oh! Make sure you’re Online when you open this software because I did open it Offline the other day and the Top graphic was missing.

It’s there…now…when I’m Online. The software looks so hideous without it :)

Once you open this sales letter writing software, you’ll see 9 icons on the Toolbar menu with 3 icons not clickable for the first time.

Underneath it is the HUGE header graphic I’m talking about, that perform a vanishing act Offline.

Immediately after that, you’ll see 11 tabs (like the tabs in your Microsoft Excel file) with headings such as Templates, Headlines, Setting, and so on. All these tabs actually presenting the steps you need to take or rather the Sales Letter Creator will take you through before you get your sales letter written.

It’s really simple. All you have to do is to fill in the blanks with some ready info, which the software ASSUME you already have before you open it.

And this is the part where the direct response issues come in and sadly, this is the part that the software can’t help you with. This is the part where YOU have to help you!

What make an effective sales letter?

I won’t bore you with all the details but for the sake of this review, and for the sake of the first time software users, I’ll touch on a few basic things.

It started with a ‘catchy’ headline.

Now, if you’ve heard about AIDA before (that’s not a person or an organization name), which summarize a proven formula for selling or advertising, the A that stands for ‘Attention’, is the part with the highest priority. If you don’t get your prospects attention, you lose them.

In our Sales Letter Creator case, the software won’t prompt you of the most effective, eye-catching, attention-getting headline.

You got to come up with one (or hundreds) yourself…

Do bare in mind that Online, there’s a bit of twist you need to add up in your headline to stir the desired response. That’s why I suggested elsewhere that you need a swipe file.

Huh?! Swipe file?…

If the word ‘swipe file’ doesn’t ring a bell, don’t be alarmed. It’s referring to a collection of proven ads or sales letter or campaign or whatever that you can use a source of reference for your own campaign.

So that’s one issue. Next…

When you click the ‘finish’ button for this software, you’ll be prompted with an option to save your project as an html file. In other words, you are creating your webpage.

Now, here comes another issue. Before you even reach the ‘finish’ tab of Sales Letter Creator, you’ll have to go through ‘Settings’, ‘Intro’, ‘Features’, and ‘Benefits’ tabs, and you need to put some text in them. I’m telling ya, if you know a little or nothing about SEO or Search Engine Optimization, and basic Copywriting, you’ll end up with a dead duck!

And that’s not good for business. You won’t get your Golden Eggs (was it duck or goose? Hmmm…)

That means, even though you get a huge relief for your sales letter writing process, the Copywriting part and the SEO part are still a huge territory to explore. You save time on the writing process but I doubt you can save time optimizing it. Like they said, “There’s no such thing as something for nothing.”

So, how does all this add up to?

This is where I supposed to make my recommendation. This is where I supposed to rate this product, and this is where I supposed to tell you that you’ll miss BIG time if you didn’t own this software. I supposed to but…

Up to this point, having read what I have to say about Sales Letter Creator, I strongly believe that you can decide for yourself whether this is something you can or you can’t do without.

In my opinion, you can write an effective sales letter by simply swiping another effective sales letter, and type it on a blank template. Not only stimulating your brain for creativity, it is also said that process like this ‘condition’ your mind to recognize the effective elements of the sales letter.

But it’s up to you decide…

And whatever choice you made, make sure it adds to your effectiveness. This is what I hope for you as much.

Single Most Important Skill If You Want To Sell With Print Online

Cheap Digital Ebook Sales and Marketing 2 Comments

If you’re selling online, do you know the single most important skill you want to have if you sell in prints or with words?

Let me answer that for you. It’s writing and specifically writing your sales material.

Online, sales material usually takes the form of sales letter. Most of the time, these sales letters are in direct sales letter format, representing digital products – e-books, softwares or services like e-book cover design.

It’s still a fact that informational digital products like an e-book on making money with Adsense, is sellable. There is demand for such item. That’s why many marketers choose this route to create their income.

Clickbank is an example of a place loaded with this kind of digital printable information product.

Let’s say you also choose this route – selling printed material online (in e-book form).

You have the product created. You have the e-cover designed and you also have the overall ‘look and feel’ figured out.

So what you do next?

You sit down and start writing your sales material.

Some of the methods used by marketers were to follow a framework or ‘flow’, started with writing down the problem. This provides the ‘why’ for the product. In selling, it’s called ‘inflicting the pain’.

Create enough pain, and the targeted users are ready to buy into your ways of easing it.

After the pain or problem, you introduce your solution i.e. way to ease the pain, and this is represented by your product or the info contained in your printed digital material.

You then proceed with telling your users what your product has which make it able to do what it supposed to or the features of your product.

Then you tell them what the product can do, what it means to them, and the advantages it had over similar or current available product a.k.a the benefits.

After that you add what other people said about your product (testimonials), and extra things your user will get if they bought your product (bonus). You then close with your guarantee to make sure your customers’ minds are at ease if they chose to buy.

And that’s basically how you create your salesman or saleswoman in print.

Can you memorize all these steps?

Well, if you’ve written more than a dozens of time, these steps will become second nature. You won’t have to consciously think about the steps while doing them but if this is your first time or maybe your third time, then you might need to spend good solid hours, at times days, just to craft a masterpiece.

In this tight, race for position online world, time is too valuable. Your time is too valuable…
