I asked around, based on my previous question “Why I started out with ebooks?” and this is what I gather.
I’ll write more when I discover more so make sure you check-in often.
Here are some simple steps you can take to successfully publish your first ebook (if you haven’t already):
1. Write quality ebooks
Now, this is a bit tricky because ‘quality’ is subjective. Quality tied in directly to ‘trust’ and trust is an important influence. People don’t simply purchase ebook from other people if they don’t have trust.
I’ll be touching on ‘quality’ later (having not figuring out what quality means yet).
I believe, if you tried Resale Rights before, ‘quality’ does means a LOT especially with Private Label Right.
2. Target your audience clearly.
I admit. This is my ‘biggest’ blunders when it comes to promoting my ebooks.
I say ‘promoting’ because I seldom write my own ebooks. I sell other people ebooks. I am a reseller.
But it is just the same whether I write my own ebook or I resell others’ ebooks–I MUST target my audience clearly. Precisely.
It got to do with something call ‘research’. And how you research? What tools to use?
Later…
3. Read MORE than you write.
It is said by some expert that, to write a page, you are advised to read at least 10 pages. At least…
Why?
There’s no specific answer but it is said that that’s how the mind works–the concious and subconcious, combining both sides of the brain: the right and left.
The ‘near’ Scientific word for that is ‘magnetized’: how you ‘condition’ your mind to attract certain ebook ideas by reading the work of others.
Let’s not go too much into that. Just…
‘Read more than you write’
4. Plan
…And plan thoroughly.
You might not get everything right the first time so learn from your experience and make better plan.
Your planning skills improve with practice.
There are shortcuts (I know you like them. I do too) but ACTUALLY shortcuts demand more planning not less. I know it’s an irony. That’s the fact.
Let say you don’t want to write your own ebooks.
So, what do you do?
Probably you acquire some Resale Rights products BUT resale rights products are not in a ready-to-sell form. It’s in a ‘raw’ form.
You must ‘improvised’ them (at least change the Order button).
And that’s just the beginning…
You’ll have to plan your ‘marketing’ just like the ebook was written by you (sigh). I know. Trying do do otherwise will cause frustration and desperation.
Final word: Plan.
5. Write.
Now it’s time for the ‘rubber to meet the road’.
Stop planning and start writing.
Action breeds result.
So write…
6. Revise.
You can do this on your own BUT to make sure it’s near ‘perfect’, do ask someone else to do it for ya.
Pay them if you have to.
How many times should you revise?
In my experience, TWO times is enough. Three is O.K. More than that is TOO much.
Do not get bog down by this process. The aim here is to get out of it as soon as possible.
The faster you get your piece revised, the better.

Basically, these are what I gather from my ‘own’ small research.
