It Might Sound Stupid But Just Do It Anyway

What I’m about to share with you might sound stupid but just do it anyway, if you haven’t already. And as an individual e-bookstore owner and e-books reseller, what I’m about to reveal is obviously common sense and should have been something I advocate strongly all this while.

When you arrive at my e-book store, the first thing that you see is an array of e-book topics. Do yourself a favor there and avoid committing stupid act #1: no idea of what to look for!

See. I know some of us already thought that by typing some keywords or key phrases in the Search Engine and arrive at a destination means you’ve hit the jackpot. Sometimes this can be further from the truth simply because many folks had found ways to cheat their way through SE ranking.

And the news is: it works, and all these folks appear on the first page of the result. Many times, they got ranked for some unrelated searches. Well, things happened.

So, it’s SMART to have an end when you arrive at any given search result.

In my e-bookstore case, make sure you have a specific topic to look into BEFORE you arrive there. This is a huge boosts to your search effort and saves your quality time.

But actually, I haven’t got to where I’m supposed to.

Print it out.

Yup. Obviously I’ve myself sound stupid now and you might be thinking that: what the hell is this?! I don’t blame you. I’ve not been doing this myself from the start.

I have ‘stacks’ of e-books, which I did not sell and I bought for my personal reference. I also have tons of FREE e-books collection in my laptop and CD-ROM. I opened them as and when I feel I need to and that’s why, to my surprises, there’s a lot of topics which I should have covered a long time ago got skipped.

Since I resell some of these items, I don’t feel a thing. My thinking was, it’s good for others and not for me.

So why I resell them in the first place, right? Jerk…

I realized that now and I hope it’s not too late. And before I can see other people take me seriously, I must ‘walk the talk’. The first thing I did was to go to my e-book store, select my most compelling needs at this point of time (hint: it’s all about traffic), download them through my favorite FTP program and PRINT them out.

Next, I ring-bind them nicely and the reason I choose ring binding is because it allows me to add more pages to it if needs be.

I know I’ll have hundreds of pages stacking up soon.

With the help of my Laser Jet color printer, I now have a very nice collection of website traffic topics ranging from SEO to Web 2.0 and as I’m typing this, the amount of incoming info is staggering. If I was like the ‘old’ me, I’m pretty sure I’ll miss the boat by filing all these valuable resources somewhere in my virtual bookshelf.

That’s not going to happen anymore.

I’ve made a commitment to read at least for 30 minutes a day on the topic of web traffic and spend at least an hour taking action from what I’ve read and learned from my printed e-book.

What have I gain so far?

This simple ‘print-read-action’ step has caused my 2 websites to exceed the amount of traffic they had since January this year. I monitor the increase daily from my CPanel Awstat services and I’m more than delighted with the outcome.

This simple step is really powerful and profitable.

I wish the same for you if…you do the same.

I know my next target based on how and ‘why’ folks visit my websites and I’m already moving in that direction by collecting the relevant info and making up some action plans.

Indeed, this year CAN be my most profitable year.

‘If I can SEE it, I can BELIEVE it.’

Well, the idea in this post might sound stupid to you but just do it anyway. Decide on a topic, find the resources, spend time to print it out and read it, and spend more time to take action based on it.
