Confusion Kills Buying Decision Better Than Fear

info-tipsI haven’t given much thought about this until lately. I’ve always focus on helping my visitors getting over their fear of buying when they arrive on my online e book store but I neglect fear closest cousin; confusion. In fact, I have reasons to believe that confusion kills buying decision faster than fear itself.

Why? I believe these are the reasons why…

When a Visitors Arrive At the Ebook Store

The first thing that they see is an array of e books (it used to be e books and softwares and scripts and templates etc.) which have no immediate meaning to them. I know this because I’ve put myself into my visitors shoes.

“What the hell are all these?”, “What am I supposed to do here?”, “I’m actually looking for…” are probably what they asked themselves (true?)

But they see (I mean you my visitors) e books, e books and more e books

And they got confused!

I’m more mature now and that’s why I totally understand how you feel. It’s easy to get carried away with ulterior motive (like interested only in your purchase) when you’re young and uninformed.

Just like I did when I got started…

And I feel sorry for what I’ve made you go through

I remember when one of my subscribers told me that I was so obssessed with chasing the money that I forgot the human part of the equation. The part where we connect and communicate as human not ATM (basically he was sick and tired of me e mailing him the ’scripted’ e mail promo).

And I’ve had that, “I had enough of this!” moment…

And what I did was I paused, retraced my steps and realign my direction

Not only these provide me with clear purpose which provide clear direction and end point, I became more aware of things around me and becoming more sensitive with its wants and need.

I’m telling ya now that what they want and need are above that of my own. But I overlooked that previously. the only thing that keeps me going forward is the believe that I’m still not late in this realigning.

Hopefully I’m right. I’m not basing this on some quantitative prospective single blind study or online test after  tedious survey; this is purely ‘guts response’. It’s pure instinct.

And my instinct has proven to save me more than to harm me in stressful situation. Lets see if this one pull through.

Do you think so?
