Hi!
“Have your website ready yet?”
This is the first question I got from my mentor after I came back from his seminar back in March. The question was sent through an email. I explained to him what I’ve done, and showed him that I was ready.
“That’s just took care of the ‘easy’ part. Now you’ve come to the harder part,” he said.
I was taken aback with that statement. I don’t see anything harder than formatting the site with HTML, uploading them using FTP, intergrate payment processor, etc. I just couldn’t see, could I?
That was almost a year ago. Now, looking back at the ‘good-ole-days’, so much change had taken place.
Those days, when I decided to design a website on my own, for the benefits of future SEO strategy, all I need to do was to tweak my page keywords, meta tags, use alternate text for images, and so on. This in turn would help my site ‘get noticed’ if the Search Engine bots ‘crawled’ it.
It’s known as on page optimization (I just knew this. Where have I been all this while?)…

It used to be so easy those days, but today, doing just that spells disaster in the long run. there’s so much more to that, and so much option to do them as well.
That just add headache. At time, heart-ache!
We haven’t begun with the ‘off-page’ optimization. With all the Web Marketing 2.0 coming, the bands of Social Media, the burden of directory submission, etc., things today are getting more complicated.
To help me to battle this, I got my hands on few reports, ebooks, and courses material to help me understand the whole situation better. But on the contrary, it doesn’t get better. Not easily anyway.
So now, I just stick to a few workable strategies. Workable to me. I don’t know about you because simply… ‘I don’t know you’. They works for me and today, I’m fine with that. Let me list them out briefly:
- Continue with the ‘on-page’ optimization. And the good news is that, Wordpress blog and plug-ins have made my life so much easier
- Add article marketing
- Add Squidoo
You see, most of the strategy I used is fr.ee. No cost whatsoever but don’t get distracted by this because the cost is actually in ‘time’ currency. You need to spend countless minutes, hours, days, and months to see the effect.
It doesn’t come cheap, one way or the other…
Speaking of cheap, all my referrence which I acquire those days, some of them were ‘invalid’ today. They were seen as manipulative and in the end causing problem if we’re using them.
But the latest guide here, address the issue adequately…
I’m not that confused now. And I know to choose what works best for me.
I hope for the same to you…
