Don’t Just Build A Website, Build A Ready To Sell Website

Cheap Digital Ebooks Info, Tips and Updates No Comments

I don’t know how many times you’ve heard this cry on the net. I lost count myself. But whenever I heard about it, I feel like vomiting.

Why?

Because I heard the cry for building websites as much as I heard the sales pitch for ‘get rich quick no website, no HTML, no computer literacy needed.’ My inbox get stuffed with these almost daily. More on weekends.

Funny… last time I check, all the experts, Gurus, even the one whose throwing the pitch have websites. Heck… they even pay arms and legs for a pro to design the website, the squeeze page, and maybe the e-mail marketing campaign for them.

And that’s make me sick to the stomach. But for now, let’s stick to the basic and see what you can do with building websites. To get your feet wet, so to speak.

If you’re thinking of building your own website, there are ONLY few things to consider.  Say you know nothing about web design. Don’t freak out. I didn’t either when I started. Your choice is to pay someone to design it exactly the way you want.  Just make sure you use reputable source so you are not wasting any money.

I tell you one nitty-gritty stuff. Be very picky about choosing domain name.  Make sure it is optimize and memorable. One popular site you can visit to check what domains are available is www.whois.sc  Here, you can also see who owns a particular domain which you are interested.  If the domain is unused, make a purchase offer to the owner.

I haven’t done this yet but is I thought about it, I might do it. It could be the wisest thing I ever did.

We got the domain part taken care of. Now, on to another crucial part–choosing a ‘damn’ good web host. Picture this worst case scenario: what if your web site goes down completely? Will you be out of business?

If you’re 100% web-based company, then the answer I’m afraid is a resounding YES. Then ‘damn-good’ webhost is very valuable, if you think in that line. So, it’s important when searching for a web host company to make sure that it has secure server capabilities, fast servers, lots of space, unrestricted CGI access, SSH and FTP access, web-based administration, access to raw server logs, full email services, power and daily server backups, and no minimum contracts (Arrrggghhh! I’m too much ain’t I?)

Test their technical support and see if they offer services, scripts, and software.

Inquire about their downtime history and new cases. Ask for how long they have been in business. Make sure no charged whatsoever for the extra services.

It’s worth to mention also that when a customer visits your site, you want them to see and feel the professionalism, sense of knowledge and fast connections. You won’t get this with free hosting. If you get hosting for free, if any of your visitors notice advertisements from your free or low cost web host server, it tells them that your site is ‘unprofessional’ and you’re cheap (seriously!).

But the ‘killer’ of them all is slow connection speeds. It definitely causes you to lose customers and lost customer is translated as lost money (how much do you think a customer’s worth online?).

Now, do choose your domain and web host server carefully. And your effort creating website will pay its huge dividend in due time. But this address only PART of the equation to a ‘ready to sell website.’

It took care the’build website’ part.

What about the ‘ready to sell’ part like the one I have here at www.ebook-at-karungwang.com I’ll tell you soon. Soon…
